Are through-spindle coolant, dual-contact tooling, probing, fourth-axis preparation or automation included?
What control version, program/options list and interface capability are present?
Can the seller provide cycle hours, maintenance information, alarm history and a powered inspection or test part?

Potential alternatives

If the exact model is difficult to find, widen the search carefully.

A buyer may widen the search to nearby 30-taper production machines, but travel alone does not establish equivalence. Spindle torque, acceleration, control, tool count, automation, accuracy and the intended material/process should control the shortlist.

The same Brother family adds X-axis travel: Brother publishes 700 × 400 × 300 mm for the S700X1 while retaining the same Y and Z class.

Confirm: Generation, extra footprint, spindle package, tool capacity, automation and whether the longer table is necessary.

FANUC publishes a 500 × 400 × 330 mm work envelope for the medium-travel ROBODRILL, close to the S500's nominal travel class.

Confirm: Spindle specification, control, tool capacity, table/load limits, automation, condition and process-specific performance.

Haas publishes a BT30 drill/tap center with 20 × 16 × 15.5-inch travels, a 10,000-rpm spindle and a 20+1 tool changer.

Confirm the exact generation and option list before comparing two machines that share the S500 name.
